synopsis:

In 1942, young English expat Eric Bentley becomes translator to Bertolt Brecht, who is living in exile, seeking to spread his fame in America. But Bentley strives to make his own theatrical mark. During their collaboration, they hide their true motives and suppress grievances, until a bitter meeting, years later.
