BKBXKids! presents:

Quiet Stories for a Loud City

QUIET STORIES FOR A LOUD CITY is a rollicking adventure that invites audiences to stretch their imaginations by taking a journey into invisible worlds. With a speaking host to guide even the youngest theater-goers, BKBX weaves together ten inventive shorts into an engaging afternoon of storytelling. The hour-long program includes an interactive performance followed by a talkback where the audience is encourage to meet the cast and ask questions.

Broken Box Mime Theater (BKBX) is a collaborative group of artists who tell original stories through mime technique. Without the use of props, sets, costumes, or words, BKBX tells stories through the universal language: body language. The Company mission is threefold: to activate the imagination of audiences, contemporize the art of mime, and remind us all of the power of simple storytelling. In conjunction with this children's performance, BKBX also operates a widely popular series of workshops in the Art of Silent Storytelling, including a residency with the 52nd St Project, a variety of school partnerships, as well as educational performance tours.
