WITCH CAMP: Amber Martin and Nath Ann Carrera

Take a journey to WITCH CAMP where Amber Martin and Nath Ann Carrera, the Ises Black, transport you through drop-off, Learning Yurts, the pre-dawn camp favorite, "Morning Horses/Blood Sacrifice," and beyond, while ridding the room of chode intentions! Grab your baggie full of hair and your black latex glove and gather around the fireside for a battle cry against the patriarchal rape heads in this ONGOING inquisition!

With Camp Counselors Heather Litteer, Patrick Johnson, and Elizabeth Koke!

Featuring songs by Aphrodite's Child, Black Sabbath, Black Widow, Chicago and The Beach Boys, It’s A Beautiful Day, Led Zeppelin and Sandy Denny, Yoko Ono, Pentangle, Pink Floyd, Buffy Sainte-Marie, The Stone Poneys/Linda Ronstadt, and MORE! Photo by Jill Pangallo!

Amber Martin is an acclaimed NYC vocalist and comedic actor. A witch by inheritance, Amber spent her teenage years in the deep south, winning local pageants and hanging out with her paternal grandmother, who passed along the secret gift. Named one of the top performers of 2010 by The New Yorker, Martin’s performances have been likened to “watching Ruth Draper after she’s come back from an acid trip during which she thought she was Janis Joplin.”

Amber’s recent projects include belting out backing vocals on The Scissor Sisters (with Pharrell) hit single “Inevitable” from their Polydor Ltd. (UK) album, Magic Hour. She brought NYC Mayor, Bill Di Blasio to his feet with her character portrayal of country legend, Reba McEntire. Amber continues to evolve as writer, curator and star of her own original stage shows.

Amber’s solo show, The Days of My Lives is in residency at Joe’s Pub.

Described as a "heavenly" (New York Times), "gender-defiant" (Time Out New York), "glitter saint" (Village Voice), Nath Ann Carrera has had solo shows at La MaMa ("Death To The Patriarchal Rape Heads"), Joe's Pub, Wild Project, and the Afterglow Festival ("I Don't Want To Throw Rice, I Want To Throw Rocks: The Early Southern Gothicism Of Dolly Parton"), sings as WITCH CAMP with Amber Martin, performs with Justin Vivian Bond, opened for Martha Wainwright at City Winery, and has sung at P.S. 122, The Kitchen, Abrons Arts Center, Le Poisson Rouge, and MoMA PS1.

"Wonderful, striking... essayistic songs about female revenge and politics" Hilton Als- The Paris Review
