Unveiled: Universal Eyes is a new film screening event focused on innovative and uniquely urban stories. The program of short films begins an exploration and expansion of culturally diverse filmmakers with the goal of integrating new ideas into the film landscape with more to come in 2017.
Hosted by guest curator Mike Holt and highlighted by the premiere of the film Exodus: Sounds of the Great Migration by Chicago born filmmaker Lonnie Edwards, it’s a night of new perspectives from different eyes.

About featured film director Lonnie Edwards:
Named 2016 “Filmmaker of the Year” by NEWCITY Magazine’s prestigious annual FILM50 list, Lonnie Edwards’ directorial debut "Parietal Guidance" had a tremendously successful film festival run throughout 2014-15. Winning numerous awards (most notably at Chicago International Film Festival & Miami Independent Film Festival). He followed that up with his much anticipated critically-acclaimed Sophomore project "A Ferguson Story". Ferguson, went on to win 9 awards (including the Pioneer Award at Los Angeles Awareness Int'l Film Festival, Best Documentary Baltimore International Black Film Festival & Best Documentary Chicago Ethnographic Film Festival) out its 16 film festival nods (most notably Pan African Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Fest & NYC Diaspora) throughout the 2015-16 film festival season. About host Mike Holt:
Mike Holt is an NYC based actor and filmmaker. He is currently writing a new series with his writing partner set to be produced in early 2017. Mike also is incredibly fond of speaking and writing in the third person. Mikes work has been met with such rave reviews as, "I don't get it." And, "So, did you really eat all that food?”
